Now this I say brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God: neither does corruption put on incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed-In the moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet will sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed, For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on immorality, So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory”. Oh death where is your sting ? O Hades, where is your victory ? I Cor.15:51-55
Here is a prophecy of an event that has yet to happen, it talks about the return of Christ and what happens to those that will be with Him. It talks about the graves opening up and bodies taking flight to meet Christ in the air first and then those who are alive meeting Him afterwards
Do you think that will get everyone's attention ?
I'm sure it will, no one will ever make an entrance that will even come close to the one that Jesus is going to make when He comes back to receive His church. I'm sure Paul wrote this passage to show people how much Jesus wants take His church to Himself, to glorify and purify His people, into His likeness in glory. He really loves His church. W e have to be changed from the way we are now, into the way we're going to be, because we cannot come into God's presence with all the filth and corruption that we have accumulated here in this life. We are sick, diseased, and as long as we live here in this world, in these bodies, we are subjected to whatever good or bad situations that we are exposed to.
We can experience the Kingdom of God here in this place, we can be filled with His Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit was sent to enable us to learn and grow into a Godly being, while we live here in this cesspool we call our life. God wants us to experience every good work in this world that He intends us to have, through the rest of eternity. We can have peace, we can have love, we can have every fruit of the Holy Spirit that is offered, to experience, if we decide that we want more out of life, than what we have now.
We have to choose to have these things, because unlike Satan who leaves you no choice, God is a loving God that will never make you do something that you don't want to do. You don't have to have eternal life if you don't want it, you don't have to be happy, if you don't want to have that either. You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do. But, Paul makes it clear, that we cannot come into God's presence with these bodies. These bodies are defective, they get sick, they bleed, they vomit, they get fevers, they get infections and eventually they die, because these bodies are not built for eternity. We go through this life knowing that one day these bodies will stop working and we will die, if not from old age, then from some premature event like illness, accident, or some other unfortunate event. But we cannot inherit the Kingdom of God in these bodies.
If that is true than why did He say that our bodies are the temple of God ?
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you ? I Cor.3:16
Pretty self explanatory. The Holy Spirit is housed in these mortal bodies, until we die or are glorified when Christ comes back. And because our bodies were made to house the Holy Spirit from the very beginning, and not to do with it whatever we please to do, God gave us a warning in the very next verse:
If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is Holy, which temple you are. I Cor.3:17
People like to think that God doesn't really mean what He says, He will destroy the one who defiles His temple, but we have to understand that He does mean what He says. Our body is the thing on this planet that He can actually use to communicate with us. Our bodies are the receiver He uses to express His divine will in this world. He uses our bodies to get through to those who have tuned out of His frequency, thgose who can't hear Him at all. Our bodies are Holy to God, but most people don't see themselves that way, the way that Jesus sees us.
Some people treat their bodies as if it was made in a dump or wrecking yard, they treat themselves as if they have no value at all, so they abuse and destroy their bodies to the point where it finally has had enough and breaks down. They end up hospitals and things go south from there, because the destruction doesn't stop there, because later on some start to hate themselves, they develop low self esteem and think that everyone is against them. They slowly waste away to the point where some end up dead, or in a vegative state. No one is against them more than they are against themselves. The worst part is that it's only because they aren't living the way they were built to live, and they know it. You know when you aren't living right and you know when your living wrong. No one can say, "hey, I didn't knjow drugs could do this to me". You need to fix the problem, if you don't, then you have to pay the price.
Did you know that our bodies don't even belong to us ?
Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ ? Shall I then take the members Christ and make them members of a harlot ? Certainly Not !! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her ? For “the two” He says, “shall be one flesh”. But he who is joined to the Lord is one with him. “Flee sexual immorality, Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who does sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or did you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own ? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and your spirit, which are God's. I Cor. 6:15-20
We may think we own ourselves, we might think that there will never be a punishment for living wrong and destroying our bodies, but we will find out one way or another that what we think doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. God always has His will done in heaven, on earth and under the earth. The scriptures say that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. Philippians 2:10-11
But right now we have a choice, we can do it now out of love for Him and what He has done to bless us in our lives, or we can do it later when we have no choice and are forced to bow down. We will bow one way or the other.
We Have to Be Changed
